Area golf tourney honors late executive CFO Edward Hussmann

Bankers Insurance Group (BIG), an affiliate of St. Petersburg, FL-based Bankers Financial Corporation, was honored today at the annual Salvation Army All Star Breakfast for passing the $1 million mark in charitable contributions.

Over the past 16 years, the BIG-sponsored Kettle Classic Golf Tournament has grossed 7-figures, by bringing Bankers leadership and business partners together on the links. The event honors the memory of longtime Bankers executive Edward Hussmann and raises awareness and funds for the St. Petersburg Area Command of the Salvation Army.

Salvation Army Area Commander Major Paul Fuller said, “We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with Bankers, and for Bankers’ generosity through the years.”

Richard Torra, Bankers General Counsel and chairman of the Kettle Classic Planning Committee, said, “The Salvation Army is a leading advocate for disadvantaged families in our community. We as an organization are thrilled to be able to make a positive contribution in support of their good work.”
