FEMA’s new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) for Broward County became effective 8/13/14. Broward County and its 31 municipal governments have adopted and are now utilizing these maps, meaning all base flood elevations must be updated for all new construction and substantial improvements to existing construction.

What’s it all mean?

Many properties will no longer be designated as high risk, but it is still strongly recommended that your clients continue their flood coverage. Read more
